AAI Aquatic Fitness Instructor Re-Certification
  1. ABOUT IT
An AAI Aquatic Fitness Instructor certification is valid for two years from the successful completion of a certification course or Reciprocity exam. A recertification letter will be mailed from the main office six to eight weeks prior to your certification expiration offering you three options to recertify.

All recertifications must submit proof of current Adult/Child & Infant CPR and current First Aid. Select one of the three methods below for certification:

    1. CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT RENEWAL
This is our recommended choice for recertification. All instructors need to recharge their batteries, network with other aquatic fitness professionals glean new teaching techniques, choreography and just get out of your home pool once in awhile.

      • 1st Time Recertifications
Submit proof of nine (9) Continuing Education Credits from Aquatic Fitness related topics.

      • 2nd or more Recertifications
submit proof of twelve (12) Continuing Education Credits from Aquatic Fitness related topics.

Photo copies of the Continuing Education Certificates or the course brochure including the presenter, workshop objectives/purpose and number of hours attended/credits is required. We accept continuing education credits from all fitness related organizations, not just AAI credits.

If you have a course which is not aquatic fitness related but, is in the fitness field and you would like to check and see if the credits will be accepted, please feel free to call the office and check (603) 448-5982.

      Fee: $60.00

    2. TAKE HOME TESTING
This is a 100 question, open book exam, consisting of multiple choice, true/false and matching questions. This test is comprehensive and will require a trip to the library because several resource texts, in addition to your manual, will be needed for completion of the exam. We realize that in certain areas Continuing Education Credits can be hard to obtain and that this may be the only viable option for some instructors. The test must be returned and completed within 30 days.

      Fee: $90.00

    3. CERTIFICATION COURSE ATTENDANCE
Recertifying instructors may choose to attend another certification course, if one is available in your area prior to your certification expiring. Instructors are required to bring their original manual, if any updates or revisions have been made since attending your first course, you will be required to purchase a new manual at an additional charge. Attendance is required at all the lecture and pool lab sessions. Registration for this course is through the main office.

      Fee: $90.00
Additional Charge for New Manual $25.00
